Join to apply for the Chief Risk Officer - Fargo, ND role at Gate City Bank About the Role Reporting directly to the President & CEO, the CRO will lead our Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Program and serve as a key advisor to the CEO and the Board. The CRO plays a critical role in ensuring risks are properly identified, assessed, and managed across the Bank. Key Responsibilities Lead the development and maintenance of a Risk Governance Framework that aligns with regulatory and Board expectations. Oversee the setting and monitoring of Risk Appetite and related reporting. Establish policies and procedures for effective risk identification, measurement, monitoring, and control. Implement a Risk Assessment Program to evaluate current and emerging risks. Lead the Executive Risk Committee to oversee risk management activities. Develop governance frameworks for new activities and third-party/vendor risk management. Manage regulatory relationships and coordinate examinations with agencies like the OCC. Oversee the Risk Management Division and ensure compliance with laws and regulations. Coordinate with Compliance, Information Security, AML/BSA, and Operational Risk teams to ensure robust risk management systems. Maintain communication with the Board and Executive Leadership regarding risk profile and issues, including quarterly reports. Qualifications Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Business, Finance, Legal, or related field; relevant experience may substitute. 15+ years of banking experience, with deep knowledge of community bank operations and risk management. Leadership experience in developing teams and managing complex initiatives. Understanding of OCC or similar regulatory supervision. Preferred Certifications J.D. and legal license, CPA, CRCM, CERP, CAMS, or similar certifications are preferred. Why Join Us? Legacy of over 100 years of community trust.
