Our client, a leading investment management firm, is seeking a Database Administrator I to join their team. As a Database Administrator I, you will be part of the IT Department supporting the database management team. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, precise attention to detail, strong accountability, and is a collaborative team player, which will align successfully in the organization. Job Title: Database Administrator I Contract: 6-Months Location: Owings Mills, MD (Hybrid - 2 days onsite/week) Hours: 10am - 7pm Pay Range: $30/hr - $35/hr W2 What's the Job? Provide database and system on-site support. Monitor the system, and act upon system and application automated alert. Monitor, collect statistical information, and provide reporting on capacity and system performance. Make recommendations to maintain and improve capacity and system performance based on statistics. Perform diagnostics, testing, and troubleshooting of software, operating systems, and database issues (ex. correcting installation, configuration, or data problems). Plan and perform software and database installation, configuration, upgrade, maintenance, database backups, and patching. Perform manual switch to redundant system / database components, in case of system failure. What's Needed? Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering, or a related field required. 0-2 years of experience in database administration and operations. Strong knowledge of databases such as DB2, SQL Server, Oracle, Postgres, and/or Snowflake. Strong knowledge of SQL is highly preferred. Understanding of Help Desk tools and trouble ticket tracking processes. Proven ability to write excellent technical documentation. What's in it for me?
