Job Summary
The District Manager, Generator Services oversees, coordinates, monitors, and improves field services of a geographically defined services district. You will support and guide a technical team of generator field service technicians who support a customer base through the execution of on-site services. These services include planned and scheduled preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and diagnostic analysis, and operational testing of installed equipment. The District Manager, Generator Services role requires in-depth generator application, installation, and service experience to solve complex problems and manage exceptions without direct supervision. The ability to execute service solutions and communicate customer requirements upward to the VP of Generator Services is required.
Summary of Essential Job Functions
The primary duties and responsibilities of the District Manager, Generator Services include:
· Oversight, management, and limited performance of both routine maintenance and emergency services on a variety of state-of-the-art critical diesel & gaseous generator systems and equipment at customer site locations within their district.
· Management of geographically isolated generator field service technicians (including time, attendance and expense validation).
· Onboarding and mentoring of newly employed generator field service technicians.
· Assisting, coordinating and managing professional and technical training opportunities for generator field service technicians.
· Validation and approval of all pre and post service-related action items.
· Drafting of standard methods of procedure (SMOPs)
· Allocation of corporate resources and personnel to efficiently respond to and rectify emergency services.
· Assist in the development of project timelines and meet completion expectations
· Customer deliverable generation, approval and submission
· Process quality assurance including periodic field team audits
· Daily communications with regional technical team including customer relations management
· Basic “profit/loss” knowledge and acumen
· Other responsibilities as dictated by requirement and corporate dynamic
Minimum Requirements
· 4-year undergraduate degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or other technical concentration, or
· Minimum of 10 years in-depth diesel & gaseous generator systems maintenance and troubleshooting experience
· Prior OEM employment/training experience preferred
Abilities Required
· Technical expertise in diesel & gaseous generator systems operation and maintenance
· Fundamental background/experience in Microsoft applications
· Proficient in customer relations management practices
· Functional knowledge of small enterprise accounting practices
· Proficient in organizational and timely file management
· Expert-level technical writing and editing preferred
