Position: Hospice Billing & Collections Specialist

Location: Richardson, TX (Hybrid: Tues/Wed onsite; Mon/Thurs/Fri WFH)

Pay Rate: $21–$24/hour (based on experience)

Assignment Type: Contract-to-Hire

Start Date: ASAP

Onsite During Contract Period: Yes — full-time onsite initially

Post-Conversion Schedule: Hybrid (2 days onsite, 3 days remote)

Additional Location Option: Lubbock, TX (team lead sits here)

Overview:

A healthcare consulting company supporting hospice and home health agencies is hiring two experienced Billing & Collections Specialists to manage hospice revenue cycle tasks. Ideal candidates will have a background in medical billing, especially within hospice, home health, or multi-facility settings such as LTACHs or skilled nursing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform daily billing and collections for hospice clients
• Handle multi-payer invoicing (Commercial, Medicaid, and Medicare)
• Manage claim submissions through Homecare Homebase and Waystar
• Work accounts receivable and maintain AR spreadsheets
• Process and follow up on ~50 claims per day
• Review and understand EOBs, remits, and UB-04s

Preferred Experience:

• Hospice or Home Health billing experience preferred
• Experience with multi-facility collections (e.g., SNFs, LTACHs) is a plus
• Familiarity with multi-payer billing (commercial, Medicaid, Medicare)
• Proficient in reading EOBs, remittance advice, and UB-04 forms
• Strong Excel skills (basic level required)
• Experience with Homecare Homebase and/or Waystar is a plus
• Physician or hospital billing backgrounds also considered
