Our client, a highly respected, growing boutique Northern Jersey law firm led by forward-thinking Next-Gen leadership is seeking a Senior Associate or Counsel with 7 or more years of litigation experience to join its thriving Employment Litigation and Commercial Litigation practices. The firm represents mid-sized and large corporate clients in sophisticated matters and is known for its high-touch, tailored approach to legal services. The firm culture values collaboration, collegiality, and excellence, offering an environment where strategic thinkers and client-focused attorneys can thrive.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record representing management in complex employment litigation, including single-plaintiff and multi-party claims involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wrongful termination under federal and state laws. Experience handling restrictive covenant enforcement and defense—including non-compete, non-solicitation, and trade secret claims—is essential, along with wage and hour litigation under the FLSA and state labor laws. Candidates should also bring strong commercial litigation experience, with a history of handling breach of contract disputes, business torts such as fraud and tortious interference, and complex shareholder or partnership conflicts. This role requires the ability to manage cases from inception through resolution, including pretrial strategy, discovery, motion practice, and participation in trial or arbitration proceedings.
Candidates must be barred in New Jersey and New York, and have practiced in a Big Law, midsized, or boutique litigation firm. Strong writing, analytical, and courtroom skills are essential, as is the ability to interface directly with clients, contribute to strategic planning, and work effectively as part of a close-knit team. Judicial clerkship experience and prior client development exposure are valued. This role offers a base salary of $175K-$190K ++, plus performance-based bonus potential, plus a percentage of originations, and a comprehensive benefits package. Most importantly, the firm seeks a thoughtful, service-oriented litigator who values professional respect, subject matter excellence, and being part of a collegial and growing team.
