Opportunity

Skybound is looking for an ambitious and inventive Senior Technical Artist to help drive a striking, high-performance visual experience in a thrilling new game franchise. As Senior Technical Artist, you’ll work closely with the Art Director to shape the visual style for characters, backgrounds, VFX, and post effects, all integrated into a fresh, distinctive look.

You will work collaboratively with artists, designers, and engineers to deliver innovative visual features and highly-detailed and unique characters and environments to our players. You will help guide the team to harness and extend UE5’s material, lighting, and VFX features to achieve striking visuals within performance targets. You’ll be part of a team that takes bold visual ideas and turns them into standout results. Reports : This position will reports to the Art Director

Responsibilities: Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Work collaboratively and proactively with a team of artists, designers, and engineers
• Work with the Art Director to translate artistic vision into achievable results
• Guide artists with best practices to maintain high visual and performance targets
• Drive the project’s foundational material, shading, and lighting production
• Harness UE5’s rendering features to achieve stylized, eye-popping visuals
• Develop tools to streamline art production
• Mentor, learn from, and share knowledge with others on the team

Qualifications

• 5+ years as a professional Technical Artist
• 3+ years of professional game development experience in Unreal
• Expertise in Unreal Engine’s material, shading, and lighting features
• Knowledge of real-time rendering techniques and their performance characteristics
• Self-motivated with excellent researching, problem-solving and debugging skills
• Strong understanding of game content pipelines
• Experience shipping a product on multiple console or PC platforms
• Prefers a fun, passionate, and team-oriented work environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency in Python and C++ programming languages, including debugging experience
• Expert proficiency in HLSL or GLSL shading languages

Job Type: Regular, Full-Time

Salary Range: $130,000 - $150,000

• Actual base salary is dependent on several factors including but not limited to; market dynamics, location and region, experience, specialized skills/training (education), level of responsibility, budgetary considerations, tenure at the company (for current employees), etc.
• The salary range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees
• Compensation decisions are dependent on circumstances of each role
