Work at a beautiful resort located on the Ocean in Virginia Beach, VA! The General Manager is responsible for all aspects of resort operations.

Hospitality management experience a MUST (i.e.: Guest Relations, Human Resources, Hotel/Resort/Timeshare operations). Must know how to "Lead by Example".

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  1. Responsible for all aspects of operations for property managed by Resort MC Group.
  2. Manage, direct and complete assigned duties as directed.
  3. Coordinate, monitor and enforce policy and procedures for all resort staff.
  4. Prepare budget and forecasts for respective properties.
  5. Summarize monthly activities to Board of Directors.
  6. Conduct monthly review of all unresolved “Action List” items and report on status of completion.
  7. Provide detailed financials summaries to Board of Directors each month.
  8. Direct actions of the Assistant General Manager, Maintenance and Housekeeping department managers, along with all other assigned resort employees.
  9. Acting as representative of Resort MC Group, coordinating communications between President/CEO with Board of Directors.
  10. Communicate with Corporate office to coordinate expected financial requirements.
  11. Process and submit bi-monthly payroll.
  12. Process all new hire packets.
  13. Negotiate and monitor contracts/leases between resort(s) and vendors.
  14. Develop guest service programs to enhance the ownership experience.
  15. Administer Guest Appreciation Day each week.
  16. Coordinate monthly & annual Board meetings, prepare agenda, and hire catering for functions.
  17. Must perform multi-purpose tasking within the guidelines set forth by Resort MC Group.
  18. Provides training and assistance to all Resort MC Group employees.
  19. Ability to travel on company business to assist in offsite training with support and/or transitions if needed.
  20. Comply with all company policies and procedures.
  21. Comply and enforce all Board approved and mandated resort “Rules & Regulations”.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities )

  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Management or related field.
  • Three (3) years management experience in a vacation ownership, resort or hotel setting preferred.
  • Must possess all required State Property Management licenses or ability to acquire within six (6) months from date of employment.
  • Strong organization, oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Critical thinking, coordination, problem solving, observation, time management, social awareness, and persuasion.
  • Manage, direct and complete assigned duties as directed.
  • Ability to lift 35+ pounds.
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
  • Strong computer aptitude, which includes expertise with MS Excel and Word.
  • Analytical skills with particular attention to detail.
